Some pretties

Just a small selection of pretty bits that have made me smile today....

How sweet is the mint coloured tuk tuk. You may not be able to actually see out of the window to drive... but hey, it looks cute!
I love a banner and particularly like it when they are used to announce certain parts of the wedding day. 'Here comes the Bride' (as above), 'First Dance'... 'Cut the cake' etc etc

Gorgeous little bouquet which would make the perfect accessory for lovely bridesmaids. Cheap and super cheerful.

I adore fabric wrapping and the above shows just how effective you can make a simple gift with some pretty material. Enclosed is just a simple bar of Galaxy... these could made scrumptious favours...

I know I'm a bit crazy for cake toppers.... but couldn't resist... so sweet xx

Carnival Theme

You know how I love a colourful wedding.... well I thought I'd pull together a few inspirational images for a carnival themed celebration. A few of my clients have gone down this route over the past few months and I've loved working on them. The opportunities are endless and the weddings always seem to generate a really relaxed, fun atmosphere. They are also a great way to keep costs down since the laid back look of the day welcomes a BYO policy and long trestle tables loaded with delicious bowl foods. Most of the items below can be found on my beloved etsy.com. Shout if you'd like further info.

Retail Therapy

Today I received some exciting news.... Danish retailer, Rice will be opening their first UK store in Neals Yard, Covent Garden on 19 May! Yay!
I adore all the Rice products and have bought heaps from them for previous weddings.
New on my love list are these gorgeous lamps below. I need one in my life.

All about compromise

I believe this is a visual aid to how to enjoy a successful marriage.
i.e. Celebrate your florals and bunting, but let him have the A-Team pillows.
Bliss.

Clipboard fun

This lovely little picture inspired an idea for an original table plan.
Grab yourself a stack of basic clipboards from the likes of WH Smiths and decorate with pretty decorative paper, or even free wallpaper samples.
Start by making a template, trace the shape of the board onto a piece of thick card. Then brush some glue onto the clipboard making sure you have an even layer. Finish by affixing the paper and smoothing out any air bubbles.
Write guest names on pretty paper or fabric and clip to the board.
Wall-ah!

Kooky Vintage

Ahead of the next Florence Blue project, we have been dreaming about all things vintage. We have decided to forget the clichéd styles and inject a bit of colour into our styling. Mix old with bright colours to achieve these knock out effects.

Uncle Mark

My Uncle Mark is very clever. He is the most handy person that I know.
He currently has lots of old window frames and can make them into fabulous, whimsical accessories for your big day. I love these table plans written on the glass.

Name tags

I've been playing with lots of luggage labels today.
Buy these pretty ones from etsy, or make your own with floral wrapping paper.
Then print out some little white strips with your guest names. Accessorize with buttons.

Love letters

Soooo pretty don't you think?
These can be used as a guestbook where messages are left for you in a selection of bottles, or as place names. Old milk bottles can be picked up at a steal from your local milk factory. They look so chic with a little bit of twine. Write your guest name on the front and leave a personal love note inside. A lovely keepsake and original favour.

Make do and mend

To celebrate the Bank Holiday weekend, why not get busy making some gorgeous little wedding goodies. These bags are so cheap and cheerful and will look good no matter what your theme. You just need to buy some fabric of your choice, sew the three corners and tie with ribbon.
The below included lots of lovely sweeties, but you can fill with what you like.

Flower seeds have been really popular this season but don't waste money on buying the pre-packaged versions. Get yourself some mini envelopes, or cut out pretty wrapping paper of your choice, then get stamping.
Stamps can be bought from cox and cox.
Enjoy! x
